Brock Lesnar set to make $400,000 tonight for UFC 141 headliner

In an interesting move the Nevada State Athletic Commission has released the salaries for UFC 141: Lesnar vs. Overeem hours before the event is set to begin in Las Vegas. Typically similar figures are released after a show takes place.

As expected, topping the list is Brock Lesnar who will earn $400,000 win or lose for his main event match-up with Alistair Overeem. Comparably, Overeem stands to earn $264,285.71 as base salary with another $121,428.57 headed his way if he comes away with the victory. For those of you who are not math majors at home that totals $385,714 and change.

The only other fighter with a potential bonus-free, six-figure payday headed his way is Jon Fitch who will get $60,000 to show and another $60k to win.

I really want to know if there’s a story behind those numbers in Overeem’s pay. Or an in joke. Seems so random and arbitrary, like when Google was offering amounts like “the distance from earth to the moon” to buy a company whose name escapes me.

Brock gets a ppv cut so that 400k is just the beginning… Homeboy takes home closer to a milli.
