UFC 145 postponed due to scheduling conflict, lack of headliner

In a relatively rare move the UFC has postponed a planned event even though a number of bouts had already been attached to the lineup. According to the Canadian Press, who confirmed the news with UFC Director of Canadian Operations Tom Wright,
UFC 145 is now on the shelf based on an undisclosed issue with scheduling as well as the organization’s interest in promoting a “championship card”.

The show, previously scheduled for March 24 in Montreal, had never been officially announced by the UFC though numerous individual match-ups were including Mark Bocek vs. Matt Wiman, Efrain Escudero vs. Mac Danzig, Rory MacDonald vs. Che Mills, and Ben Rothwell vs. Brendan Schaub. Many of the match-ups will now be moved to a recently announced April 21 event set for Atlanta.

However, in what is at least a silver-lining to the situation for Canadian fans, Wright did explain that the promotion still planned on doing a spring show in Montreal if possible and certainly returning to the region in 2012 without question.
