One of the most recent winners of the Ultimate Fighter, John Dodson, will make his post-TUF debut at UFC on FOX 3 when he moves down a division to meet Darren Uyenoyama at 125 pounds.
It was not announced where the Dodson-Uyenoyama bout would take place but it is likely to be slated for the prelims given the size/scope of past FOX events. The only other fight scheduled to date for the card, set for May 5 from New Jersey, is a tilt between talented lightweights Nate Diaz and Jim Miller.
The match-up has been confirmed by the UFC’s website.
Dodson won the first bantamweight TUF title in the series’ history last fall, capping off the UFC’s run on Spike TV with a thrilling performance in the finale over T.J. Dillashaw. Dodson holds an overall record of 12-5 and is expected to excel as a flyweight based on size and success at 135 pounds.
Comparably, “BC” sports a 7-3 career mark including a victory over Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto at the first UFC on FOX show back in November. Like Dodson, Uyenoyama will also be dropping down from bantamweight to compete at flyweight while looking for his third straight victory in the ring.
