Former TUF finalist Kris McCray headed to Bellator

Kris McCray, who made it to the finals of The Ultimate Fighter Season 11, has signed a multi-fight deal with Bellator Fighting Championships and will debut in the upcoming season.

McCray (7-3) was defeated by Court McGee in 2010 in the finals of TUF 11 and dropped two more bouts inside the Octagon thereafter, forcing his release.

Since his stint in the UFC, McCray has won two fights on the regional circuit. He has been working out in New Jersey at Ricardo Almeida‘s gym with UFC lightweight champ Frankie Edgar.

News of the signing was first reported by MMAWeekly. Bellator has yet to announce a date/event for McCray’s initial appearance under the promotion’s banner.

Man, I always hated that stupid cat thing he did. It made want to see him get his face smashed in.
    I guess that’s fine for Bellator, but I don’t consider a draw so…..meh.

I wish that Bellator, proElite and Dream could agree on a co-pro. Now ZUFFA has done us a favor by making it impossible for Strikeforce to co promote with anyone (thanks) some of these smaller promotions are very isolated.
I assume that Aoki vs Alvarez is still happening. So much for Aoki not being able to cut it against Americans or wrestlers, 2 of his last 4 wins have been American wrestlers.

this isnt the sort of signing i want to see from Bellator.
i was dubious when they brought in Ben Saunders, never really rated him, but watching him out grapple and submit a high level bjj guy was one of the most impressive performances i saw last year.
but this guy is a nobody, he doesnt deserve a shot in Bellator. this really is picking up UFC rejects
