Jacob Volkmann vs. Paul Sass scheduled for UFC 146

Jacob Volkmann and Paul Sass have a date for Memorial Day Weekend, as the two UFC lightweights will compete at UFC 146 on May 26 from Las Vegas.

News of the match-up was reported by the UFC.

Volkmann (14-2) is a three-time NCAA Division 1 All-American from the University of Minnesota. He has won five straight bouts inside the Octagon since a pair of defeats at the hands of Paulo Thiago and Martin Kampmann during his run at welterweight.

Comparably, Sass (12-0) is a perfect 2-0 in his brief UFC career including submission victories over Michael Johnson and Mark Holst. Of his dozen career wins, eleven have come via tap-out with a number involving his patented “Sassangle Choke”.

Though the card is still developing, UFC 146 is expected to feature a bout for the UFC heavyweight title between Junior dos Santos and Alistair Overeem. A bout between Jason Miller-C.B. Dollaway has also been announced for the linup.
