One of the most recent TUF winners, Diego Brandao, will return to action Memorial Day weekend when he meets Darren Elkins at UFC 146.
Brandao overcame an early attack by Dennis Bermudez to claim the title on the reality show where he’d emerged as a talent to watch based on his ferocious style and emotional demeanor. Brandao is 14-7 in his MMA career, having won his last four matches as a member of Greg Jackson‘s gym in New Mexico.
Elkins (13-2) has gone 3-1 thus far in his UFC career including recent back-to-back victories over Tiequan Zhang and Michihiro Omigawa. He last lost to Charles Oliveira, also earning a TKO victory over Duane Ludwig in is UFC debut.
The match-up is the latest in a number of bouts recently announced for the May 26 event. Other fights include Jason Miller vs. C.B. Dollaway, Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Shane Del Rosario, Glover Teixeira vs. Kyle Kingsbury, and Ludwig vs. Dan Hardy. The show is expected to feature a main event between heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos and consensus top contender Alistair Overeem.
