Alistair Overeem’s decision to sign with the Blackzilians and Authentic Sports Management has come under fire from many in the MMA scene. Now, ASM’s Glenn Robinson is going on the attack in defense of claims he paid Overeem a six-figure salary to sign with his company.
“(The rumors) are all (expletive),” said Robinson, in an interview with MMAWeekly. “There are some evil people in this business that are real dirty and they spread rumor(s).”
The rumors Robinson is talking about are those that claimed Overeem was paid half-million dollars to sign with ASM and help bring the team to the front of the MMA world. Allegations have also surfaced stating Valentijn Overeem received a sponsorship deal as a result of his brother’s signing with ASM.
Robinson added that, “It’s not a publicity stunt. Our deal is (very) fair to (all parties).”
