UFC officials announced an interesting bantamweight match-up on Friday, signing Scott Jorgensen and Eddie Wineland to a bout agreement for UFC on FX 3.
The card is set to take place June 8 though a venue has yet to be made official while the organization waits for ongoing “Hometown Throwdown” competition to play host.
Jorgensen (13-5) enters the contest coming off a loss to Renan Barao earlier this year. The defeat snapped a two-fight winning streak for Jorgensen coming after an unsuccessful bid to dethrone Dominick Cruz for the WEC bantamweight title.
Wineland (18-8-1), meanwhile, is still searching for his first UFC victory. The former WEC bantamweight champ has lost to Joseph Benavidez and Urijah Faber inside the Octago while prior to those losses he had won four straight fights.
Jorgensen-Wineland join Demetrious Johnson-Ian McCall and Dustin Pague-Jared Papazian as the only official fights for the card to date.
