Back during The Ultimate Fighter 11, Nick Ring scored a majority decision victory over Court McGee. However, it was McGee who would go on to claim the title and six-figure contract with the UFC after reentering the tournament as an injury replacement.
Now it appears McGee will have a chance to avenge the loss, as the two have been signed to face off at UFC 149 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on July 21. The bout will take place inside the Scotiabank Saddledome with UFC featherweight champ Jose Aldo defending his title in the main event.
MMAJunkie was the first to confirm the Ring-McGee match-up with multiple outlets confirming it since.
The 14-2 McGee has emerged victorious in three of his four UFC fights but had an eight-fight winning streak come to an end at the hands of Constantinos Philippou in his most recent bout. As for Ring, a Calgary native, he is 12-1 overall and 2-1 inside the Octagon but suffered his only loss in his most recent outing with Tim Boetsch defeating him at UFC 135.
