Hacran Dias, a highly-touted featherweight out of the Nova Uniao camp, has signed a three-fight contract with the UFC. Dias is a frequent training partner of current divisional champion Jose Aldo.
The Brazilian submission-specialist announced inking the deal during an interview on Sensei SporTV over the weekend, joining teammates Aldo, Renan Barao, Johnny Eduardo, and Luis Ramos on the organization’s roster.
“Today is the happiest day of my life,” said Diaz of his contract. “Dede (Pederneiras) has been working on this for a long time, trying to get me in there, and today he came up with the contract. When he handed it to me, I couldn’t believe it; everyone cheered for me. I’m very happy with everything that’s happening to me.”
Dias holds a 20-1-1 record including eight straight victories. He is currently holds the Shooto South America featherweight belt and turned down an opportunity to be on TUF Brasil in hopes of bypassing the show as he now has. No opponent or date has been announced for Dias’ debut inside the Octagon.
