Jon Jones tops list UFC 145 salaries with $400,000 paycheck

UFC light heavyweight champ Jon Jones didn’t just exit Atlanta with his title-reign intact and a victory over rival Rashad Evans at UFC 145 but also the evening’s largest paycheck after earning $400,000 for his successful showing. The figure was not affected by any bonuses based on his win or the manner in which it came.

Coming in second, fittingly perhaps, was Evans who made $300,000 for his hard-fought loss to Jones. The only other competitor to crack the six-figure mark was Ben Rothwell who came away with $169,000 in pay thanks to his Knockout of the Night performance against Brendan Schaub (who made a measly $14,000 by comparison).

Schuab needs a day job. His chins suspect. He ll never get to the top level trying to knock everyone out. After cain couldnt ko rothwell why would schuab go toe to toe like he did?

I know all the talk of bonuses and sponsor money and all, but I always find it interesting what these guys base paycheck is.

Efrain base of 10K is less than when he won TUF. And he went 3-2 in the UFC and 5-1 outside it before getting the second contract.
With all the talk surrounding Wonderboy, I would have thought that a 78 fight win streak would have garnered more than 8k.
Yagin walked in earning 6k and walked out with 77k. $71,000 more than he was promised.

It’s interesting cause no matter how many times they post these payouts, there is always something that makes me scratch my head.

Like Maximo Blanco making $1,000 less than Schaub?

How in the hell does Ben Rothwell get $52,000 a fight with a $52,000 win bonus? He’s 3-3 in his last 6 and two of those losses were KO or TKO’s. Really??
