The injury bug continues to play games with UFC officials as Rich Attonito has been forced out of a planned match with Rick Story at UFC on FX 4. Instead of Attonito, Story will now face Papy Abedi on the June 22 card set to emanate from the Revel Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
The Abedi-Story fight will be part of the Fuel TV-televised prelims.
Abedi (8-2) has suffered two consecutive first-round submission losses since joining the UFC with Thiago Alves and James Head both stopping the Swedish-Congolese fighter within the first five minutes of action.
Meanwhile, Story (13-5) has gone from a possible contender at welterweight to potentially fighting for his job against Abedi. At one point he had won six straight inside the Octagon including success against Alves and Johny Hendricks but the 27-year old came up short against Charlie Brenneman and Martin Kampmann in his last two outings.
The UFC on FX 4 card is topped by lightweights Clay Guida and Gray Maynard mixing it up in the main event.
