Many of those fighters taking part in UFC on Fuel 3 were dealt medical suspensions by the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation recently. The two at the head of the list are Jeremy Stephens and Johnny Eduardo who both suffered eye injuries and are on indefinite leave. Stephens and Eduardo, however, can be cleared to return by a physician.
MMAJunkie confirmed the suspensions with the Virginia board.
Dustin Poirier, who fell via submission to Chan Sung Jung in the main event, was handed a 60-day suspension. Also receiving a two month break from competition were Jorge Lopez and Jeff Hougland. Lopez has already confirmed he suffered a broken finger in his fight with Amir Sadollah.
Thirty-day suspensions were given to Kamal Shalorus, Igor Pokrajac, Fabio Maldonado and Jason MacDonald.
