Mike Swick will make his return to action after more than two years away due to illness and injuries when he takes on DaMarques Johnson at UFC on FOX 4. The show is scheduled for August 4 from the Staples Center in Los Angeles with a main event featuring Hector Lombard vs. Brian Stann.
UFC officials confirmed the fight this week. Where Swick-Johnson will be placed on the card is currently unknown though it seems unlikely to be on the FOX portion of the broadcast with other match-ups like Lyoto Machida-Ryan Bader and Travis Browne-Ben Rothwell already in place.
Swick (14-4) is coming off two consecutive defeats, falling to Paulo Thiago in 2010 and Dan Hardy the year before. Prior to that, he had won four straight and nine of ten.
Like Swick, Johnson (16-10) is a veteran of The Ultimate Fighter. He lost to John Maguire earlier this year by submission and is 2-2 in his last four fights.
