Bouts with Pat Healy, Jason High added to Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Kennedy

Pat Healy has been mentioned as a potential challenger to Gilbert Melendez and the Strikeforce lightweight title. On July 14, Healy will have a chance to confirm his status, as Strikeforce officials announced “Bam Bam” will face Mizuto Hirota at the card.

Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Kennedy takes place from the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon. Luke Rockhold will defend his middleweight title against Tim Kennedy in the main event with a co-headlining clash for the vacant welterweight belt between Tyron Woodley-Nate Marquardt.

Healy (27-16) has won five of his six Strikeforce fights. He is currently on a four-fight win streak, including a victory over Caros Fodor in March. Meanwhile, the bulk of Hirota’s success has come fighting in Japan where he posted a 14-4-1 career mark and won titles in a number of organizations.

Two other bouts were also announced for the event with Jordan Mein (24-8) takes on Tyler Stinson and Nate Moore (8-2) meets Jason High (15-3) at welterweight.

Anyone else think Rockhold and Kennedy look like brothers?

And seriously, if Bam Bam doesn’t get the next title shot, who else is there in SF’s LW division? What are they gonna do, give it to the winner of the Fancy Pants / Maximus fight?
