Invicta FC 2 reveals talent-packed lineup for July event

Fans entertained by last month’s Invicta FC unveiling are in for another treat on July 28 when the all-female promotion returns to Kansas City with another stacked card capped off by a previously announced bout between unbeaten Olympic medalist Sara McMann and seasoned veteran Shayna Baszler. The 5-0 McMann has looked sharp thus far in her career while Baszler is on a four-fight winning streak and owes thirteen of her fourteen total wins to a submission finish.

The organization recently confirmed the complete lineup for Invicta FC 2 and, as expected, it features many of MMA’s top female competitors including Hitomi Akano, Liz Carmouche, and more.

Akano will face Alexis Davis, a fellow submission specialist, while Carmouche is slated to scrap with Kaitlin Young. All six of Young’s wins have involved a strike-based stoppage while Carmouche herself is coming off a TKO win at Invicta FC 1.

Check out the full rundown of bouts below:

Hope an all women’s MMA promotion finds success. UFC doesn’t seem interested in the women yet. Maybe this is the path to generate enough interest that women can find a spot in larger promotions in the future.
