After numerous issues in the past on the scale it appears Anthony Johnson will finally bite the bullet and admit he’s a 205-pounder. According to Titan FC CEO Joe Kelly, “Rumble” will compete at light heavyweight in his next fight under the company’s banner.
“(Johnson) has stated that in his next fight, he wants to fight for us at 205, so that’s where the fight will be in July,” said Kelly while appearing on BloodyElbow Radio recently. “We’ll see.”
Johnson won his debut for Titan FC by defeating Dave Branch earlier this year though he came in heavy for the fight. The move was a major disappointment for fans after Johnson expressed confidence that his weight-related problems were behind him. He was handed his walking papers by the UFC after losing to Vitor Belfort in a fight he initially came in ridiculously over for.
As a reminder, Kelly will be on tonight’s edition of Rebellion MMA Radio where he’ll no doubt discuss the issue further.
