Bantamweights Takeya Mizugaki and Jeff Hougland have agreed to face off this fall with each looking to avoid back-to-back losses when they meet at UFC 151. Both are coming off decision defeats with Mizugaki’s coming in controversial fashion to Chris Cariaso this past February and Hougland’s to Yves Jabouin last month.
MMAWeekly was first to report the match-up being in place. The September 1 card is headlined by light heavyweight champion Jon Jones putting his gold up for grabs against hard-hitting legend Dan Henderson.
Hougland’s stumble to Jabouin snapped a nine-fight winning streak for “Hellbound”. He holds an overall record of 10-5 including seven instances of success by way of submission.
Comparably, Mizugaki is 15-7 and has alternated between wins/losses over his last ten fight with victories over the likes of Jeff Curran, Rani Yahya, and Cole Escovedo.
