6-1 striker Marcus Aurelio joins Bellator’s welterweight division

Capoeira specialist Marcus Aurelio, considered by many to be one of the most exciting prospects in MMA, has signed with Bellator. Aurelio’s style is unlike any fans are likely to have seen before though his results are universally recognizable given the number of knockouts to his credit.

Bellator announced the inking earlier today along with confirming Aurelio would debut on August 24 at Bellator 73.

“I feel that my style of fighting is very dynamic and explosive,” said the 26-year old Brazilian in a press release. “I certainly don’t enter the cage to win on points. It’s instinct for me, I’m always looking to finish my opponent. I think it’s exciting for the fans.”

Aurelio holds an overall record of 6-1 with five knockouts. He has emerged with his hand raised in six straight after losing his debut by way of submission.
