Forrest Griffin tops list of UFC 148 salaries

Nearly $1.5 million in salary was dished out over the weekend at UFC 148 with two fighters accounting for a third of it in the form of co-headliners Forrest Griffin and Tito Ortiz. Their bout marked the final meeting in a trilogy of tilts with Griffin coming out as the series’ winner based on his decision victory this past Saturday night.

Specifically, Griffin earned $350,000 in pay including a $150,000 win bonus, while Ortiz made $325,000. Both men received an additional $75,000 on top of their regularly contracted rates for their role in what was named the evening’s Fight of the Night.

Ortiz and Griffin were also among a select group of fighters topping the six-figure mark with Anderson Silva and Cung Le rounding out the quartet.

To many intetam belts. If forrest is making that much $ he should be fighting top tier opponents so he can get ko ed and run off crying.their pay is based on favortism.

As requires repeating every time these payouts are disclosed:

These are only the payouts disclosed to the NSAC and do not reflect sponsorships, discretionary bonuses, or anything else not defined in the specific bout agreement.

I’d easily wager that Chael broke 7 digits on his total pay for this event. And he earned every cent if he did.
