UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre returning to train with Freddie Roach soon

It appears the progress of UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre is moving along, as the Canadian icon is planning on working with Freddie Roach next week.

GSP, who is rehabbing from a torn ACL suffered in training, will fine-tune his boxing skills with Roach at The Wild Card gym in the coming days.

St-Pierre and Roach, who has worked with the biggest names in the sport of boxing, started training a few years back when GSP just showed up at the door and asked for help. Roach obliged, an a relationship was formed.

“Georges will be at The Wild Card next week. He will be working a bit of boxing and moving around,” said Roach, during a recent interview with FightHub TV. “I know he has been moving around, been kicking a bit. Nothing too forceful.”

St-Pierre is set to return to action in November against interim UFC welterweight champion Carlos Condit. The bout will unify the titles, as Condit stepped in and defeated Nick Diaz earlier this year to claim a share of the belt. GSP and Diaz were scheduled to meet at that time, but the knee injury knocked St-Pierre out.
