Anthony Johnson, Braulio Estima get opponents for Titan FC 24 fights

The card for Titan FC 24 is starting to take shape with the announcement of two tilts sure to draw interest from fans. In one match-up, former UFC fighter Anthony Johnson will make his light heavyweight debut against Esteves Jones, while highly-touted BJJer Braulio Estima is set to take on Chris Holland in what will be the decorated grappler’s first professional fight.

Both clashes were confirmed by the management team for Johnson/Estima in a press release sent out earlier today.

The 11-4 Johnson won his first appearance under the Titan FC banner, outpointing Dave Branch this past May. However, he failed to make the middleweight limit for the fight and came to the conclusion shortly thereafter he was best suited for 205 pounds. In Jones he will face an 8-3 competitor who is also coming off a win and has six strike-based stoppages to his credit.

Estima may not have any in-ring experience under his belt but the strap around his waist is as black as they come as proven by his numerous tournament wins in BJJ including a few ADCC titles. Meanwhile, Holland is 5-2 but is on a three-fight winning streak including a June knockout of Phil Baroni.

*cue obligatory Johnson misses weight comment* I do kinda hope Johnson can get back on the winning track, he doesn’t seem like a bad guy and he’s a pretty good fighter when he’s not getting smothered by wrestlers. Just don’t know how he will do at LHW since he won’t be so much bigger then his opponents like he’s use to.

That’s what you think…wait till the weigh ins and he has to go in the back and cut 2 more lbs.

Oh I don’t think he will make weight, I said it in another article that I have a feeling he misses weight here too. It’s just at WW and even MW he was so much bigger then his opponents, and that won’t really be the case at LHW

He wasn’t any bigger than Vitor at MW and he wasn’t bigger than Branch (who ALSO missed weight) in his last fight. I think he makes the cut to 205 pretty easily being as he was 206 rehydrated for his fight with Vitor.
I would like to see him put a run together as, aside from the Hardy fight, he’s pretty entertaining.
