Rick Story scheduled to mix it up with Demian Maia at UFC 153

Yet another Brazilian has been added to the UFC‘s upcoming stop in the South American nation, as it appears Demian Maia will continue his welterweight career against Rick Story at UFC 153.

In the October 13 card’s main event, Jose Aldo is scheduled to defend his featherweight title against Erik Koch. Vitor Belfort and Alan Belcher, along with Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Glover Teixeira, have also been placed on the event’s lineup.

Story (14-5) confirmed news of the fight on Twitter, writing, “I’m fighting Demian Maia in Rio.” He recently snapped a two-fight losing skid by besting Brock Jardine.

Maia (16-4) is a former middleweight contender who decided to drop down after a loss to Chris Weidman. He earned a win in his divisional debut over Dong Hyun Kim.

This will be a pretty decent match up, I will take Maia by late sub.

Still not sold on Maia at WW. Glad to see them actually making evenly matched fights for this card though. Outside of the Aldo and Glover fight, I think it’s pretty good odds that the Brazilians lose most of these matches.
