Glover Teixeira will have a golden opportunity when he takes on Quinton “Rampage” Jackson at UFC 153. Along with competing in his native country of Brazil, Teixeira will be taking on a former UFC light heavyweight champ in Jackson.
The card goes down October 13 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Teixeira (18-2) finally made his long-awaited UFC debut earlier this year, earning a submission victory over Kyle Kingsbury. In his career, Teixeira owns eleven wins by way of knockout and is hoping that Jackson becomes victim No. 12 this fall.
“Fighting him is great because he is, you know, an idol of this sport,” said Teixeira, in a recent interview with 1360 Films. “I am training hard, man. I am going to knock him out.”
It will be interesting to see which Jackson shows up, as “Rampage” is making his final appearance on his contract with the UFC and has stated he will move on to explore new opportunities after the bout. The 34-year old is coming off a decision loss to Ryan Bader and has been dealing with knee problems as well.
