Ultimate Fighter veterans Ramsey Nijem and Joe Proctor will square off in December, as the two lightweights have signed to meet at UFC on FOX 5.
UFC officials confirmed the match-up earlier today.
Featuring a main event pitting lightweight champion Benson Henderson against Nate Diaz, the card is set to go down December 8 from Seattle’s Key Arena. The actual placement of the Nijem-Proctor bout on the lineup was not made official, though a slot on the prelims is without question the most likely landing spot given the attachment of other bouts like B.J. Penn-Rory MacDonald and Mauricio Rua-Alexander Gustafsson to the show.
Nijem (6-2) has rebounded from a loss to Tony Ferguson in the finals of TUF 13 to post consecutive victories inside the Octagon, defeating Danny Downes and C.J. Keith since the stumble. Four of his total wins have involved finishes.
Proctor (8-1) didn’t make it as far as Nijem during Ultimate Fighter 15 run, but he did secure a stoppage victory over Jeremy Larsen in the first round during the show’s live finale. He will enter the bout with Nijem having won a quartet of consecutive clashes.
