UFC 151 may be dominating the headlines at the moment but another card having recently lost a title-fight is actually set to unfold after all fighters scheduled for Bellator 73 made weight with the exception of Kelvin Tiller who came in more than four pounds over the limit for his middleweight match-up. As a result he will forfeit a piece of his purse.
In the how’s main event, Attila Vegh will be taking on Travis Wiuff in the final leg of the promotion’s $100,000 light heavyweight tournament with a shot at Christian M’Pumbu for the division’s strap also on the line. Wiuff beat M’Pumbo by decision last year in a “super-fight” last year. Bantamweight finalists Luis Nogueira and Marvos Galvao also got a green-light for their bout with the winner moving on to mix it up with Eduardo Dantas in November.
Bellator 73 prelims will be available through Spike.com at 7:00 PM EST with MTV2/EPIX handling the main card an hour later.
