The match-up took place in Manila on August 31 where referee Moritaka Oshiro determined that Chilson couldn’t defend himself and stopped the fight, giving the win to Wiratchai.
Upon review ONE FC officials determined that Oshiro was “incorrect.”
“After a thorough review of the match, ONE FC Officials have decided that Wiratchai landed an illegal leg kick to a grounded Chilson in round two,” explained a statement from the organization. Both fighters will have their records amended to reflect the official result.
The move marks the second change associated with last week’s lineup with the first involving an announcement from ONE FC President Victor Cui that the company has adopted “PRIDE” rules surrounding soccer kicks allowing them to occur at all times rather than with a referee’s approval beforehand. The new policy will be in place for the October 6 card in Kallang, Singapore where Shinya Aoki will face Arnaud Lepont in the main event at ONE FC: Rise of Kings.
