Cris “Cyborg” changes tune, would fight Ronda Rousey at lower weight

In the not-too-distant past both bantamweight Ronda Rousey and featherweight Cris Santos seemed adamant in their unwillingness to waver on meeting the other at her respective weight despite mutual dislike between the two. Rousey, who holds the Strikeforce strap, stated she didn’t feel the need to accommodate someone she views as a habitual cheater, while Santos claimed she is unable to slim down from 145 pounds in a healthy manner based on her chiseled physique.

However, it appears “Cyborg” has since softened on her stance for unknown reasons.

“The 145-pound division is my category, but I can drop until 140 pounds to fight her. It does not depend on me, it is up to the event,” said Santos in an interview with Fighters Only. “My business is to fight inside the cage and do not trash talk outside the fence.”

Santos holds an overall record of 10-1 including wins in ten straight. However, she has been shelved since December when she tested positive for performance enhancing drugs after a successful defense of the Strikeforce featherweight strap. She was subsequently suspended for a year and stripped of her title.
