Despite some talk of Tyson Nam’s involvement it appears fan-favorite Miguel Torres will actually be facing Marlon Moraes on November 3 at the inaugural offering from the World Series of Fighting. The bout marks the first fight for Torres outside of a Zuffa-owned organization in more than five years.
The match-up was confirmed over the weekend by WSOF officials.
Moraes holds an overall record of 8-4-1 with six stoppages in the bunch. He is currently on a two-fight winning streak and scored a 47-second knockout in his most recent rumble.
Comparably, Torres is 40-5 in his career but was blasted by Michael McDonald in his last fight. The 31-year old was considered to be one of the best in MMA for years but has hit a skid recently, compiling a 3-3 mark since losing his WEC belt back in 2009.
WSOF 1 is headlined by a heavyweight collision between Andrei Arlovski and Devin Cole. Other fighters scheduled for action at the November show include Gesias Cavalcante, Ronys Torres, and Gerald Harris.
