OneFC 6 Results: Shinya Aoki debuts in victorious fashion

OneFC 6: Rise of Kings took place tonight in Kallang, Singapore in front of a packed house at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. The event featured the first OneFC Superfight and the debut of Shinya Aoki (31–6,1nc) against French fighter Arnaud Lepont (9-2). The Japanese superstar swarmed Lepont from the moment the fight began. Within seconds the ground technician had Lepont mounted and was rolling for a Triangle Choke.  The ref waved off the fight when Lepont went limp at 1:25 of the first round, while in the post-fight interview Aoki called to face the organization’s newly crowned lightweight champion.

Kotetsu Boku was crowned the first OneFC Lightweight Champion in history when he defeated Zorobabel Moreira by strikes in the third round. The more than game Moreira had Boku hurt early in the bout, but couldn’t put the finishing touches on him. In the third round comeback, Boku landed a series of right hands that dropped Moreira and sealed the deal.

Likewise, Soo Chul Kim was awarded the first OneFC Bantamweight Champion when he defeated Leandro Issa. Issa came swarming in after Kim motioned to him to bring the fight to him. Issa threw a looping punch which Kim slipped and returned the favor with a straight left that floored Issa. The ref quickly stopped the bout after a series of hammerfist at just 15 seconds into the second stanza.

Aoki is only good when his opponent doesn’t have take down defense. When he can’t drag someone to the ground in 10 seconds he gets beat. One dimensional to the extreme.
