Sara McMann latest fighter to be pulled off November 3 Strikeforce show due to injury

With the main event still up in the air regarding who will fight Strikeforce heavyweight Daniel Cormier and a scramble to find a suitable replacement for middleweight champion Luke Rockhold, the promotion’s November 3 show has taken another hit after news surfaced today stating Sara McMann will not be fighting that night either.

MMAWeekly is reporting her fight with Liz Carmouche is off because McMann suffered some sort of injury training. No replacement has been named and Strikeforce has not officially commented on the matter.

The 6-0 McMann is an Olympic silver medalist in wrestling and recently defeated Shayna Baszler at Invicta FC 2.  The latest loss has many folks speculating as to whether or not Strikeforce will scrap the show completely, as they did last month when lightweight title-holder Gilbert Melendez went down, and questioning the company’s future in general.

Very bad news here as this was a great set up for Rousey, IF McMann wins it is two olympic medalists against each other and both having a undefeated record. If Liz wins she knocks off a olympic champ and gets to go for two. It looked to be a good fight but I think Liz would have taken it.
