Rich Franklin, Cung Le among six UFC on Fuel 6 fighters facing lengthy medical suspensions

Last weekend’s UFC on Fuel 6 lineup was packed with action including an extremely memorable main event between Rich Franklin and Cung Le. “Ace” came out swinging early, scoring some solid strikes and putting Le on the defensive until the midway point of the opening round when he suffered a devastating knockout resulting from a counter hook.

Though it’s no surprise Franklin will miss some time based on the brutality of the finish, it turns out Le may be sidelined for a similar period after injuring his elbow in the bout. Both men were included on a list of medical suspensions stemming from the event provided by the UFC to The Underground.

According to the report, Franklin (thumb) and Le (elbow) will both be out up to six months for damage sustained in their scrap. Each will need to be cleared by a physician before returning to action.

Four other fighters received 180-day vacations as well including Mac Danzig and Thiago Silva.
