One of the concerns about awarding Chael Sonnen a shot at UFC light heavyweight champ Jon Jones related to size disparity. Not only has Sonnen been competing at middleweight for the past few years but Jones, who stands three inches taller than his upcoming adversary, is one of the biggest 205-pounders on the UFC roster.

However, according to statements from widely respected nutritionist Mike Dolce, it sounds as though Sonnen is ready to deal with Jones’ physical tools after bulking up in preparation for their April 27 tilt.

Dolce recently revealed on Joe Rogan’s podcast that Sonnen currently weighs around 240 pounds and is ripped. If true, the outspoken grappler’s frame should level the playing field in his fight with Jones, though it has also called into question his use of testosterone replacement therapy.

Sonnen has yet to address the matter.

The two talented competitors are set to face off as opposing coaches on TUF 17 before locking horns in the Octagon.
