Mamed Khalidov taps out Kendall Grove at KSW 21

Any hopes of Ultimate Fighter 3 winner Kendall Grove (17-11) making an early 2013 return to the UFC were cut short this weekend when “Da Spyder” fell by way of submission to Mamed Khalidov (26-4-2) at KSW 21 in Warsaw, Poland. Prior to the stumble Grove had been on a three-fight winning streak, putting his record at 5-1 since parting ways with Zuffa.

Grove’s loss came in the second round of his headlining clash with Khalidov when a grappling exchange opened the door for an Achilles Lock. For Khalidov, the finish was business as usual, compiling 25 stoppages in 26 total victories.

Also notable, middleweight veteran Matt Horwich scored a TKO win over heavy-handed slugger Terry Martin. The win marked Horwich’s second straight since dropping four in a row.

Mamed Khalidov is one of the best MW on the planet, he needs to get in with Bellator or the UFC to prove it. Personally would rather see him in Bellator, but he needs to be fighting top guys
