Ferocious finisher Evangelista Santos has finally been booked for a bout this coming February in what will be his first fight since a September 2011 loss to Jordan Mein under the Strikeforce banner. Though ready for action, “Cyborg” was bypassed for bookings a number of times earlier in the year and was granted his release from the organization after requesting an opportunity to compete elsewhere.
Santos’ return to the ring will take place at Legacy FC 17 where he will fight Pete Spratt. The card, announced by way of an official press release, is scheduled for February 1 in San Antonio, Texas.
Spratt, a UFC veteran, holds an overall record of 25-21 and is on a two-fight winning streak. 22 of his victories have involved some form of finish.
Likewise, the 18-15 Santos is a notable finisher with sixteen stoppages to his credit. Among the opponents he’s beaten in the past are the likes of Marius Zaromskis and Francis Carmont.
Other fighters set to see action at LFC 17 include Jordan Nicole Gaza, Nick Gonzalez, and Jared Rosholt.
