Two featherweights looking to make the transition from rising contender to legitimate title-threat will face off on February 16 when the UFC heads to London, as the organization has announced a bout between Cub Swanson-Dennis Siver will serve as the evening’s co-headliner at UFC on Fuel 7. Both men have found success in recent rumbles and are riding the momentum of a respectable winning streak.
The 18-5 Swanson has been one of the hottest 145ers on the UFC roster as of late, stringing together strike-based stoppages over George Roop, Ross Pearson, and most recently Charles Oliveira. Seven of Swanson’s victories have involved a TKO finish with another seven coming by way of submission.
Meanwhile, Siver picked up a convincing decision win over Nam Phan last weekend at UFC on FOX 5 to make it 2-0 at featherweight since dropping down from 155 pounds. He holds an overall record of 21-8 including past triumphs over the likes of Diego Nunes, Matt Wiman, Spencer Fisher, and George Sotiropoulos.
Swanson-Siver is the latest tilt added to a card already featuring a number of interesting match-ups in addition to a title-fight between bantamweight interim champion Renan Barao and wunderkind Michael McDonald in the main event.
