UFC on FX 6 featured a number of entertaining efforts and a handful of strike-based stoppages but it appears none topped the output of undercard competitors Ben Alloway, Cody Donovan, and Nick Penner. All three men banked an extra $40,000 on top of their regularly contracted rates after being awarded performance-based bonuses.
Specifically, the 14-3 Alloway was handed Knockout of the Night after finishing opponent Manuel Rodriguez in the closing second’s of their bout’s opening round. The win marked the Aussie’s sixth straight and seventh strike-based stoppage of his career.
Meanwhile, Donovan and Penner took home Fight of the Night honors even though their bout didn’t make it past the first frame, proving that quality of minutes is more important than quantity.
No Submission of the Night was handed out as no tap-outs materialized at the show.
Also worth mentioning, Alloway, Brad Scott, Robert Whittaker, and Colin Fletcher all received an additional $25,000 for their work on TUF: Australia vs. UK. Alloway and Scott were involved in the season’s best bout, while Whittaker scored Knockout of the Season and Fletcher Submission of the Season.
