At the age of 40, and with back-to-back victories inside the Octagon, UFC middleweight Cung Le could walk away from MMA content and never look back. However, after dropping Rich Franklin in November at UFC on Fuel 6, it seems a fire has been lit in Le’s belly that isn’t ready to be extinguished no matter what the rest of his body might be telling him.
Le recently revealed via Twitter he had some bone spurs cleaned out of his elbow and wasn’t sure when he’d be ready to return – only that he would be eventually. Le also added he plans to heal up the right way this time around instead of rushing the process as he did with an injured foot leading up to his fight with Franklin.
The 9-2 striker will be a welcome sight when he makes his way back into the cage, possessing status as one of the most entertaining competitors in the sport. Eight of his wins have involved a strike-based stoppage with many coming as a product of his unique San Shou style.
