Another of Strikeforce’s top prospects has inked a deal to come over to the UFC in the form of Bobby Green, a 19-5 lightweight with wins in his last four fights. Though the 26-year old has a ton of potential, he certainly won’t be getting an easy test in his Octagon debut after drawing suffocating grappler Jacob Volkmann in a bout at UFC 156.
The February 2 fight was first reported by MMAJunkie.
The 15-3 Volkmann has won six of seven since dropping down from welterweight, finding success against the likes of Efrain Escudero, Danny Castillo, Antonio McKee, and most recently Shane Roller. Seven of his overall victories have involved a submission.
Green is no stranger to stoppages either, compiling fifteen finishes during his run in the ring including those against Charles Bennett and Daron Cruickshank.
