No stranger to extra paychecks, Joe Lauzon took home Fight of the Night honors at UFC 155 along with Jim Miller for their collective effort in the evening’s co-headlining clash. The honor came as a result of an all-out battle between the two highlighted by Miller opening Lauzon’s face up early with strikes, leaving the canvas a bloody mess by the end of things. As a result each man received an additional $65,000 as a result of their highly-entertaining affair.
Also notable, the bonus was the twelfth of Lauzon’s career, tying him with Anderson Silva for the most in UFC history.
Meanwhile, Knockout of the Night and the attached cash were awarded to a returning Todd Duffee after blasting Phil De Fries a little more than two minutes into their undercard match-up. All eight of Duffee’s victories have involved a strike-based stoppage.
Finally, Submission of the Night went to John Moraga for his modified Guillotine Choke of favorite Chris Cariaso, snapping a three-fight winning streak in the process as well. The victory was Moraga’s seventh in a row and improved his overall mark to 13-1. He too received $65,000 for the distinction.
