Vitor Belfort earns $50,000 bonus for finish of Michael Bisping

It seemed few people gave middleweight Vitor Belfort a chance to beat Michael Bisping outside of the opening round in their main event match-up at UFC on FX 7. However, “The Phenom” proved the lot wrong by blasting Bisping with a head kick in the second frame of their fight to mark the beginning of the end of the Brit’s evening.

Belfort’s strike-based stoppage of Bisping scored him a much-needed victory in addition to $50,000 for Knockout of the Night. The performance marked Belfort’s fourth finish in four wins during his latest run in the Octagon.

Meanwhile, Fight of the Night and the attached cash were handed to C.B. Dollaway-Daniel Sarafian for their exciting effort. The bout went the distance with both men having opportunities to finish the other including a late surge from Sarafian nearly stealing him the scrap.

Finally, Ildemar Alcantara took a fight against Wagner Prado on short notice only to end up tapping his foe out with a Kneebar. The technique earned Submission of the Night honors and scored the newcomer an extra $50,000 on top of his regularly contracted rate.

Not a huge Vitor fan, but good to see he is still relevant even tho he spit the bit big time against Anderson. Not sure anyone is clamoring for that rematch.

Brian Stann or Chris Leben would make for exciting fights for Vitor.
