Highlights from Vitor Belfort’s beatdown of Michael Bisping

Bisping v BelfortFans are learning to never count legendary competitor Vitor Belfort out after “The Phenom” nearly finished Jon Jones in a 2012 tilt and followed it up by starching Michael Bisping last night at UFC on FX 7, stopping the middleweight’s run towards a title-shot. Belfort’s blasting of Bisping came in the second round of their headlining match-up when he landed a perfectly timed head kick and followed it up with some strikes to the grounded Brit.

The victory was Belfort’s third in a row at 185 pounds since losing to champion Anderson Silva in a 2011 title-fight. It was also his fifteenth TKO in 22 total triumphs.

Now, thanks to the UFC, fans can re-live the excitement with a video of highlights from the exciting effort.

Vitor rocks! He’s still fairly young and despite almost 20 years in the business and fighting some legendary fighters, he has relatively low mileage. Even though he’s already a shoe in for the HOF, he really might just be the best Vitor there has ever been. I’d really like to see him fight for the MW title again but there are some intriguing fights for him at LHW too. Rua? Machida? Rampage?

Am I the only one that thinks Vitor looks like Puck from Glee with that mohawk? I kept waiting for him to break out into “The Greatest Love of All” during the staredown with Bisping.

Maybe Bisping should try his chances at welterweight. And then lightweight. Sooner or later he’ll get to the weight class that’s a good fit for his power. It wasn’t light heavy, and he can’t trade with the heavy punchers in middle weight, either.

you’d think Bisping would have come up with a better plan by now other than trying to box with people.
use some kicks, his take downs are ok, try them. see what BJJ feels like maybe. dont just try and box and outpoint when you have no kind of punching power.

dont recall Vitor throwing decent head kicks before, good for him

That head kick was set up from the very first body kick. I watched this fight over n over and after Vitor threw that frist body kick shitsbing was trying to catch every single on after that. The look on his face showed how hard those kicks were. It was lkike a cheese game….arms down..shin to face

I was kind of stumped on this Fight, Bisbing usaully has really good foot work, Moves in and out very well, and overall has affective stand up. But W.T.F ??? He get’s blasted into next year by Hendo.Caught circling the wrong way for the Big Right hand. Then he get’s WrestleF@#4ed By Chael sonnen. and then He get’s Freakin T.K.Oed By Vitor Belfort with A High Kick ! Has Vitor Ever Won a Fight With a Head Kick. I think that Bisbung chokes under the Pressure, Obviously bisbung Trained for Vitor’s hand’s.and forgot He has legs and that’s how he walked into the octagon. as far as I can see bisbung most likely will not fight for the strap. Unless he cut’s a Shit load of weight, and bully’s the little guy’s.
