The smoke may still be clearing from UFC on FX 7 but it appears one of the card’s competitors already has another clash lined up. Though far from confirmed, heavyweight Travis Browne went on Twitter to imply he and Ben Rothwell are likely to lock horns in a few months.
“Looks like me and him may have a date in the future. What do the fans think?? April 13th for the TUF Finale,” wrote Browne on the social networking site.
Rothwell suffered a submission loss in the second round of his go at Gabriel Gonzaga last night, putting him in a perfect position for a bout with Browne who is also coming off a defeat. If booked, the fight would pit two of the division’s legitimate finishers against each other. Rothwell is 32-9 with 29 stoppages, while the 13-1 Browne can lay claim to eleven TKOs and two submissions.
The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale is scheduled to take place in Las Vegas. The attached season starts next Tuesday where Jon Jones-Chael Sonnen will coach opposing squads with the goal of helping one of their team’s competitors become the last man standing.
