February 14 may be Valentine’s Day but fans shouldn’t expect Bellator fighters to show much love towards each other in the cage come Bellator 89. Though the card is still developing, it appears the lineup will host the organization’s Season 8 middleweight tournament including a recently revealed bout between Brian Rogers-Dan Cramer.
Rogers-Cramer has yet to be officially announced but MMAJunkie was able to confirm the clash through sources close to the show. The event is scheduled to take place in Charlotte, North Carolina and features a headliner between bantamweight champ Eduardo Dantas and top contender Marcos Galvao.
The bout will mark Rogers’ third run towards a title-shot after falling short in two previous tournament bids. The heavy-handed slugger holds an overall record of 10-4 with eight of his wins involving a strike-based stoppage. Comparably, Cramer is 9-3 and has come out triumphant in five of his last six fights.
More middleweight match-ups are expected to be unveiled in the coming weeks.
