The lineup for the UFC’s annual event on Memorial Day Weekend appears to have its first pairing in place despite not being officially announced, as a bout between welterweights Amir Sadollah-Stephen Thompson has been attached to the May 25 lineup. Though both are coming off losses, fans should still be in for a treat come showtime given the duo’s entertaining approach to in-ring action.
MMAFighting was first to report the rumble. The event is expected to unfold in Las Vegas.
Sadollah made his professional debut in the UFC after emerging as a finalist on TUF 7 back in 2008. Since then he has compiled a 6-4 mark with wins over DaMarques Johnson, Phil Baroni, and C.B. Dollaway.
Like Sadollah, the 6-1 Thompson is also fairly new to MMA but has shown a ton of potential thus far. He is 1-1 in two UFC appearances including a beautiful head-kick knockout at UFC 143.
