Fans will have a chance to see two of the UFC’s top bantamweights battle it out in Sweden on April 6 courtesy of a clash between Mike Easton and Brad Pickett. The talented 135ers both seemed to be on track for a possible title-shot in 2013 before coming up short on the scorecards in their most recent rumbles and should be right back in the hunt if victorious at UFC on Fuel 9.
UFC officials confirmed the match-up to Swedish outlet Kimura. Also added to the card was a bout between featherweights Marcus Brimage (6-1) and newcomer Conor McGregor (12-2).
Easton had an eight-fight winning streak snapped in December when he fell to Raphael Assuncao at UFC on FOX 5. Prior to the stumble “The Hulk” had scored success in three Octagon appearances including an impressive outpointing of Ivan Menjivar last July.
The 22-7 Pickett has yet to turn in a boring performance, blending stand-up and submissions to notch 17 stoppages in his career. Among his notable past victories are those against the likes of Menjivar, Yves Jabouin, and Demetrious Johnson.
UFC on Fuel 9 features light heavyweight contenders Alexander Gustafsson-Gegard Mousasi colliding in the main event.
