The UFC’s interest in building an international brand has spawned a number of Ultimate Fighter seasons outside of the United States. One of the first TUF champions produced by the global plan, Norman Parke, will look to show his employers’ faith in the ability of foreign talent was well placed when he fights on April 20 for the first time since winning TUF: Australia vs. UK.
UFC officials have confirmed the Irish lightweight will tussle with Jon Tuck at UFC on FOX 7. The card is headlined by 155-pound champion Benson Henderson putting his title on the line against the last man to hold Strikeforce gold in the division, Gilbert Melendez, with other tilts including Josh Thomson-Nate Diaz and Daniel Cormier-Frank Mir.
The 17-2 Parke has finished fifteen of his opponents though couldn’t put fellow TUF Smashes finalist Colin Fletcher away last December despite going on to earn the decision win. Parke is currently riding the momentum of a seven-fight winning streak.
Like Parke, Tuck has also won his last seven scraps, standing at 7-0 with six stoppages. He made his UFC debut last November at UFC on Fuel 6, outpointing Tiequan Zhang in front of his foe’s hometown fans in China.
