Middleweights Tom Lawlor and Michael Kuiper have been linked to a showdown in Stockholm on April 6 when the UFC stops in Sweden for UFC on Fuel 9. Both men could use a win in the division, though fan-favorite Lawlor is potentially fighting for his spot on the roster after dropping two of his last three tilts.
Swedish outlet MMANytt was first to report the fight. UFC officials have not confirmed the bout’s addition to the lineup.
The 8-5 Lawlor has scored six wins featuring some form of finish including first frame stoppages of C.B. Dollaway and Jason MacDonald inside the Octagon. Though Lawlor certainly possesses some skill, he’s best known for his zany outfits/antics at weigh-ins and while walking down to the ring.
Kuiper is also well-versed in putting his opponents away before scores come into play, racking up seven TKOs and four submissions in twelve total victories. The Dutchman is 12-1 in his career with a second round smashing of Jared Hamman last August.
