UFC flyweight champ Demetrious Johnson has his next title-defense lined up and it won’t be coming against Joseph Benavidez as many speculated would be the case. Rather, “Mighty Mouse” will be mixing it up with John Moraga with their tilt coming on April 13 at the Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale.
UFC officials confirmed the headlining bout earlier today.
Johnson put his gold up for grabs in January, weathering an early storm from opponent John Dodson to ultimately earn a Unanimous Decision nod. The victory improved his overall mark to 17-2-1 including past wins over Miguel Torres, Ian McCall, and Benavidez.
The 13-1 Moraga is on a seven fight run including back-to-back triumphs inside the Octagon. He was last seen choking out Chris Cariaso at UFC 155.
