TUF 17 Results: Team Jones on the scoreboard after Kevin Casey falls in fight with Collin Hart

Collin Hart - UFCAfter wins in their first two tilts, including Uriah Hall’s incredible finish of Adam Cella on last week’s episode, it seemed like Team Sonnen might kick it into cruise control last night and ride the momentum all the way to a clean sweep of Jon Jones’ squad. However, despite being the fight’s favorite, Team Sonnen’s Kevin Casey (5-2) couldn’t come through in the end and fell to fellow grappler Collin Hart (4-1).

Leading up to their fight a bit of tension between the two came into play after Casey’s crew played a poorly-planned prank on a number of Team Jones’ members including Hart. The festivities involved pelting the sleeping fighters with toilet paper rolls after an initial plan to wrap their beds fell apart. As a result, Hart flew a one-finger salute in Casey’s face at the weigh-ins instead of accepting his handshake.

Casey went on to say he didn’t take it personally but felt it was unprofessional and planned to teach Hart a lesson in respect come showtime. Of course, he was unable to do so, struggling to deal with Hart’s takedowns and clinch-work en route to a Unanimous Decision loss.

The victory gave Jones an opportunity to put together the next fight, prompting the UFC light heavyweight champ to put Jackson’s MMA teammate Bubba McDaniels up against 21-year old wrestler Kelvin Gastelum.

I’m liking the way the show is being put together this time around.
It seems to have a more serious tone to it.
When you throw up a finger at the weigh-ins you better be able to back it up, and although it was an ugly fight, Hart was able to do just that.
Cool to see how Sonnen operates when he’s not promoting a fight.
